Calcium chloride vs ready-made reef supplements
The cheapest powder price is not always the cheapest practical option, and the most convenient liquid is not always the best value.
Loose calcium chloride
Bulk commodity calcium chloride can be extremely inexpensive per kilogram. It usually assumes you already have accurate scales, a suitable preparation container, storage and reliable mixing directions. Product grade, hydration and assay also matter when comparing labels.
Ready-made liquid
Liquid supplements remove the preparation step, but the parcel contains mostly water. That can increase freight and packaging cost for the amount of calcium delivered.
A measured dry refill
Known Matter sits between those formats: 300 g is already measured into a 500 mL preparation bottle, with directions and standard Australian delivery included. You add water only when needed.
Compare delivered cost and effort
Compare the final calcium concentration, number of useful doses, packaging, delivery, measuring equipment and preparation work—not only the sticker price per kilogram.
